Jill and Brandon’s elopement along the coast in Acadia National Park was all things elopements should be, and hopefully it leaves you full of inspiration for your own Bar Harbor or Acadia elopement! It was simple, stress free, relaxed, beautiful, intentional and a dang good time.

It was just Jill, Brandon and their two friends who came along with them on their trip. I met up with them at the inn they were getting ready at, and took a few shots of their details (how unique and gorgeous is Jills ring!), we did a little first look where Brandon peeked a little too early ;) and took a few portraits around the inn.

Next we headed along park loop road to their ceremony location where we met up with the officiant. We hiked down to the classic Acadia rocky shoreline, and chose a spot for them to say their vows. Their ceremony was a few quick minutes and then just like that they were married! We took a few portraits in the same location as their ceremony before heading along. There was a massive cave that I had scouted out the morning before that was going to be SO cool, but unfortunately the tide filled it with water later in the afternoon. So anyone else that wants to get married at this spot, we’ll plan your ceremony time at low tide!

After taking a few portraits along the coast, we headed towards otter cliffs for a few more. These guys hadn’t been to this part of the park yet, so it was really fun to see them experience one of my favorite spots for the first time! They wanted to do a few photos in more casual clothes so they changed and we headed into Bar Harbor to wrap up our time together. The sunset must’ve known it was their wedding day because they lucked out with a beautifulllll sunset to end the day.

Acadia is one of my favorite national parks and I feel like it’s so underrated, but I’m okay with keeping it the secret it seems to be ;) However if you’re looking for a place to elope, this is a perfect spot! Also, unlike most national parks, you don’t need a permit to get married here if you have under 10 people!

If you’re planning an elopement in Acadia National Park, a wedding in Bar Harbor, or somewhere around Mt. Desert Island, get it touch! Maine is one of my favorite places in the world to shoot, and I’d love to be a part of the best day of your life!
