St. Mary’s Lake Small Wedding in Glacier National Park
St. Mary’s Lake Small Wedding in Glacier National Park
If you’ve ever dreamed of tying the knot surrounded by the beauty of Glacier National Park, Darbie and Tyler’s small wedding at St. Mary’s Lake might just be your perfect inspiration! Their day was filled with unforgettable moments, from an unexpected insane rainbow at sunrise to exploring iconic spots like Logan Pass.
Sunrise Ceremony at St. Mary’s Lake
Darbie and Tyler began their elopement day with a sunrise ceremony at St. Mary’s Lake, one of the most stunning locations in Glacier National Park in my opinion! The forecast called for rain, and we braced ourselves for a moody, overcast morning. Instead, we were gifted with the most vibrant sunrise and a full-sky rainbow. It was the most intense rainbow any of us had ever seen, and just felt like the coolest surpise from the elopement fairies to celebrate their long awaited day!
With the mountains reflecting in the calm waters of the lake and the couple exchanging heartfelt vows, it was a moment none of us will ever forget. St. Mary’s Lake truly delivered its signature magic. Darbie even spent over 100 hours making her own wedding dress - can you believe it!? It was such a beautiful morning, making anything that happened the rest of the day, the cherry on top!
Post Ceremony Breakfast Picnic
After the ceremony, Darbie and Tyler celebrated with a cozy breakfast picnic alongside their family. Sharing a meal and some laughs together was the perfect thing to do after their ceremony, and let them enjoy the views of St. Mary’s lake just a bit longer! Moments like this are what make small weddings and elopements so meaningful — the focus stays on the love and connection between people.
Waterfall Hike in Glacier National Park
As the morning went on, we embraced the park’s wild side with a rainy hike to a nearby waterfall. Glacier National Park’s rugged beauty shines in all weather, and the rain added an adventurous charm to the experience. Darbie and Tyler’s positive energy and excitement for the day kept spirits high, and the photos from this part of their elopement captured their connection and adventurous spirit perfectly. We were hoping for a light drizzle, or that it would maybe wean off, but nope. Glacier made sure we enjoyed a proper rain through the majority of our hike! After a full morning, Darbie and Tyler took a well-deserved break to warm up and dry off. We separated for a few hours to let them chill out, take a nap and recharge from a busy, exciting morning. This pause in the day is one of the benefits of eloping in a natural, relaxed setting. It gave them time to reflect, recharge, and get ready for an afternoon of exploring more of Glacier National Park.
Exploring Logan Pass and Beyond
The second half of the day was all about exploring the park and sharing some adventure. There are so many gorgeous little spots up and around Logans Pass, that we took our time stopping at all the pull off’s and enjoying different views. From lush valleys to rugged peaks, every backdrop seemed more incredible than the last.
We even made a pit stop back at another view point of St. Mary’s Lake, because it’s truly one of the most beautiful places in the park. The mix of dramatic mountain scenes and tranquil lake views created a stunning finale for Darbie and Tyler’s elopement.
