Otter Point Wedding in Acadia National Park

If you’re dreaming of a small ceremony surrounded by the stunning views of Acadia National Park, Otter Point offers the perfect place for you to have your wedding. For Sam and Sid, their June wedding was an unforgettable celebration made complete with the beauty of Acadia!

As an Acadia wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their intimate day, filled with personal moments, scenic landscapes, and plenty of laughter. Here’s a look back at Sam and Sid's unforgettable Otter Point wedding, offering inspiration for couples looking to marry in Maine's most stunning national park.

Private Vows Before Otter Point Ceremony

On the morning of their wedding, Sam and Sid decided to get ready separately, each surrounded by their closest family and friends. Sam got ready with her sister + friend and the guests of honor, their two golden girls Aria + Sansa. It was the perfect way to prepare for the intimate celebration ahead. As a photographer, I always love capturing these moments before the ceremony — the anticipation and excitement in the air sets the stage for what’s to come. After getting ready, we headed into the heart of Acadia National Park for Sam and Sid’s first look on the most beautiful cliffs overlooking the Atlantic ocean.

Sam and Sid shared private vows and explored a few of the different coastlines of the park with their dogs before it was time to meet their guests for their ceremony at Otter Point.

Wedding at Otter Point with Family

For their ceremony, Sam and Sid chose Otter Point, one of the most picturesque spots in Acadia. With the rugged cliffs on one side and the expansive ocean views on the other, it was the ideal spot for an intimate ceremony with just their closest family and friends. And being an approved ceremony location in the park for groups up to 30, it was the perfect spot for their ceremony! Their friend officiated, making the moment even more personal, something I always recommend if you have a guest that you think would be a good fit for the role!

After saying "I do," they took a few moments to soak in the beauty of Otter Point with their loved ones before heading off to the next adventure.

Post Otter Point Wedding Adventure: Carriage Ride through Acadia’s Carriage Roads

One of the highlights of their wedding day was the horse-drawn carriage ride through Acadia’s historic Carriage Roads. With the sun filtering through the trees, Sam and Sid explored the park in a timeless way. In fact, the way that the park has been explored by it’s founders! The peaceful journey through the forested paths provided an opportunity for them to relax, enjoy each other's company, and take in the natural beauty of Acadia from a unique perspective.

A Lobster Feast at Beals Lobster Pier

After the carriage ride, it was time for the couple to join their guests for a classic Maine lobster feast at Beals Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor. For Sam and Sid, this was the perfect way to celebrate their marriage — with a delicious meal, great company, and the stunning views of the harbor.

Beals Lobster Pier is a beloved local spot, known for its fresh seafood and casual, laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s the kind of place where you can truly savor the flavors of Maine. It’s one of my favorite go to’s!

Sunset at Cadillac Mountain

As the day came to a close, we made our way to Cadillac Mountain for sunset. Cadillac Mountain is famous for being the first place in the U.S. to see the sunrise, but its views at sunset are equally spectacular. The golden light bathed the landscape in a soft glow, providing the perfect ending to Sam and Sid’s beautiful day.

Standing on top of Cadillac Mountain, looking out over the islands and the Atlantic Ocean, was the most magical way to end their Otter Point wedding day!
