Breckenridge Wildflower Filled Mountains Elopement Photography

This beautiful Breckenridge Elopement Photography is a wonderful example of how you could combine an adventurous elopement with a traditional wedding, featuring Intimate Colorado Wedding Portraits.

For Sara & Eric’s Intimate Colorado Wedding, they knew they wanted to celebrate with family and friends, but they also loved the adventurous style of elopement photography. So, they decided to intertwine the two! They chose to get married at a beautiful venue reminiscent of alpine lodges, overlooking the Rocky Mountain National Park. They started their day early, with a lunch reception, so that they could make the most of the epic Colorado scenery with some adventure portraits. This way, they were able to enjoy time with their loved ones, while still making time for the two of them to celebrate this epic commitment together.

Breckenridge Elopement Photography

Breckenridge is located just at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range and is known for being spectacular all-year round. In the summer, you can enjoy the lively town and also spend your days wild camping, hiking, kayaking, fly-fishing, mountain biking, and more. In the Fall, you can do much of the same while taking in Breckenridge’s world-famous golden aspens. Meanwhile, generous snowfall in the winter effectively turns Breckenridge into a ski resort town filled with all the snowy activities you can think of. Basically, if you’re a fan of adventure and the outdoors, you can’t go wrong in Breckenridge!

For Sara & Eric’s Intimate Colorado Wedding Portraits though, they really just wanted to make the most of the surrounding scenery. We initially thought we’d head to Sapphire Point Overlook, known for its views of Dillon Reservoir, but when I scouted it the day before I realised it was super busy with summer crowds. A little further scouting and I came across an epic spot with 360-degree mountain views, which was exactly what Sara & Eric wanted! The hike up wasn’t at all difficult, and we even found this beautiful field of wildflowers that was so pretty, especially for their final sunset portraits.

If you’re planning an intimate wedding with your nearest & dearest, it can be really nice to get ready all together at the same venue. This allows you to make the most of the time you have on the day, especially if your guests are travelling in especially for the day. Sara & Eric actually found their venue last minute, after they found out the Airbnb they’d originally planned to use didn’t allow events. Luckily, it turned out to be perfect, with beautiful views of the mountains and that classic alpine lodge feel.

They got ready there and had their ceremony and reception there. There were a few speeches, a lot of super fun dancing and a sweet little cake-cutting ceremony. Sara, Eric and their guests were all just so happy and excited to be there, celebrating together, and it was so much fun to photograph! We even managed to sneak a few pictures on Eric’s motorcycle before we headed off for their Breckenridge Elopement Photography session.

Sara & Eric’s wedding is a beautiful example of how you can choose which traditions are important to you and let everything else go. They crafted a day that was unique and special to them, combining elements of a traditional wedding with elements of an adventure elopement. It made for a really fun day and as always, it was such a joy to photograph their day for them, so that they can look back and remember it for life.
