This engagement session in Big Sur is everything that California coast session dreams are made of! Bixby bridge, a gorgeous sunset, adventure filled couple - couldn’t get better!
I was so excited when Dakota and JC reached out - they sounded like the sweetest couple, both served in the military, and were just about to move in together no place else but Big Sur - what a place to live am I right!?
They were up for whatever adventure I threw at them, so I came up with a fun game plan! They were hoping to shoot at Bixby Bridge seeing as it’s quite iconic to Big Sur, so that’s where we began our adventure. However, Bixby is crazzzzy busy, so we just shot a few there, and then JC had the challenge of backing up his massive truck in the tiny road filled with loads of traffic - truck driving warrior if I ever saw one!
We headed over to a nearby state park which was filled with gorgeous succulent fields, and a gorgeous sunset that started to peak through the clouds! We ran around through those fields, found our way to an epic flower field that led onto a rocky beach. Talk about magical - Alice in Wonderland much!?
These guys were total troopers - changing around a decent amount of strangers (oops), running all around the rocky shore and being up for whatever I threw at them! As the sunset, they popped some champagne (my people!). We went to grab our things when we realized the waves had sucked up Dakota’s sandals - luckily JC saw them and went running into the waves to fetch them - he’s a keeper!
