Fun-filled Fall Shenandoah Adventure Photos for Dominique & Matthew to celebrate their Adventurous Virginia Anniversary Portraits. 

Dominique & Matthew eloped in 2019, and when I wasn’t available to photograph their wedding, they decided why not book in an anniversary session! Their faith and trust in my photos were incredibly special, and it meant I was really looking forward to their beautiful Shenandoah Adventure Photos session last Fall. 

Dominique grew up in the Bahamas (so cool!) and loved the idea of exploring a park like Shenandoah. The beautiful vistas and wild greenery are totally different to what she’s used to, and it was so much fun running around and playing in different spots across the park.

How to Plan Your Shenandoah Adventure Photos

If you ask me, Shenandoah National Park is seriously underrated! An easy drive from Washington D.C., Shenandoah offers a chance to explore uninterrupted nature, with beautiful wooded hollows, waterfalls and expansive views over breathtaking oak forests. If you’re looking for some greenery and adventure, and a chance to really relax for your anniversary or engagement, then Shenandoah Adventure Photos could be a great option for you!  

The good news is that it is really easy to plan your Shenandoah Adventure Photos! A single vehicle entrance costs $30.00, and there is no need to get a special permit for adventure photos (although this might be necessary in case of a Shenandoah Elopement or Wedding!). As for knowing where to take the photos? Well, that’s where your photographer comes in! As an adventure elopement and couple’s photographer, I spend a lot of my spare time scouting out National Parks, hiking just for fun and making note of all the best spots. Adventurous Virginia Anniversary Portraits 

For Dominique & Matthew’s Adventurous Virginia Anniversary Portraits, they just knew that they wanted to explore the park together and have some fun. Dominique even invested in a beautiful, sustainably made dress from Reformation for the occasion! So, instead of planning on doing a specific hike or hitting specific locations, we decided to drive through the park, stopping at a few different spots along the way. Seeing this beautiful pair relax throughout the session, running and laughing and exploring, was a truly beautiful experience.
