Engagement Photos with Kathy and Luke | Hiking Snoqualmie Pass | Washington Wedding Photographer | Seattle Elopement Photography

This Snoqualmie pass engagement session was such a fun one to shoot. It involved a bit of hiking to this beautiful lake, but was worth it for these engagement photos!

I met up with Kathy and Luke for this super fun engagement session while I was on a roadtrip through Washington and Oregon. With the sun in the middle of the sky, I had to be extra creative in handling shadows and direct sun light, although this Snoqualmie lake was epic.

My cousin Evan and I met up with these two sweet souls at the trailhead, and we hiked in together, quickly finding out that Kathy and Luke both graduated from Whittman College, a tiny private school in eastern Washington, which just happens to be where Evan goes to school.

To make it an even smaller world, Evan and Luke were in the same fraternity, Luke ahead of him just a few years - what a small world! Once we got to the lake, they found a secluded little spot in the woods to change into their non hiking attire, and we began to explore the lake and shoot away.

Kathy and Luke had just gotten back from a European adventure, and not long after our shoot, Luke moved to Ohio to begin his medical school program. I'm so glad that the two of them have these engagement photos and the memory of our time hiking together in Snoqualmie Pass as they enter this new long distance phase of their relationship. These guys were so much fun to adventure around with.
